Anatolian Shepherd Puppies
Our litter of Anatolian Shepherd puppies out of Marble Peak's Ziya was whelped February 25, 2016. The litter had four males and one female, all fawn in color. All the puppies from this litter have new homes. We hope to breed Marble Peaks' Tanyeri in December of 2016 and Ziya in 2017. If you are interested in a future litter, please fill out our Puppy Questionnaire at the bottom of the page.
These are the Ziya-Duman puppies at 7 weeks old out in the pasture. They are meeting the ewes and lambs and learning how to behave around them under the careful supervision of their mom, Ziya.
This special girl is available to the right home. She is going to be a superb livestock guardian. She is independent and needs wide open spaces and a flock to protect. She is already bonding to sheep and displays appropriate interest and caution. She is fierce and predators will learn quickly to leave her sheep alone or suffer the consequences. She has a beautiful head and excellent conformation (evaluated with the Hastings method). 8 weeks old in photos. ***SOLD***
In the photos below, the puppies are five and a half weeks old. Compare their sizes to the previous weeks' photos; they are very healthy, vigorous pups. The puppies are now exploring outside the barn. They are curious about the ewes and lambs and spend time with them every day to begin learning how to behave as livestock guardians.
In the photos below the puppies are four weeks and four days old. Such a big change in two weeks. They are eating solid food, playing with toys, and jumping up eagerly when visited. They are starting to express their individual personalities.
In the photos below, the puppies were two weeks old and had just opened their eyes. They were attempting to stand and walk instead of crawling but still needed practice.
Ziya is a classic fawn, smooth coat Anatolian with a black mask. Ziya, along with her older sister and her dam, are all full-time guardians for our sheep on our ranch. Ziya is extremely athletic and is first in the pack to reach the fence when a threat appears. She has a proven record of killing four-legged intruders. However, she is sweet girl and very friendly with people. Ziya is registered with the AKC. She is OFA certified with Hips "Excellent", Elbows "Normal" and Thyroid "Normal" - click on this link to view her listing on the OFA website. Ziya's sire is Timaru Serag Mounir, an AKC Silver Grand Champion and who ranked third among all Anatolians in the U.S. for 2015. Mounir spends the majority of his time as a livestock guardian with goats.
The litter's sire, Ormanustu Duman, is a smoke gray, rough coat Anatolian. He was imported directly from Turkey from the mountains along the Black Sea where he was working protecting sheep. Duman has an exceptionally easy-going, adapatable temperament and is a joy to work with. Duman is registered with the both AKC and UKC. He is OFA certified with Hips "Good", Elbows "Normal" and Thyroid "Normal" here is the link to OFA page on Duman. Duman is a healthy, energetic nine-year old in the photograph below. Duman has already sired an AKC Champion for us, Shepherds Rest Takat. For more information on Duman, see Duman's page at Shepherds Rest Anatolians, especially interesting is the story of his travel from Turkey to the United States. With a rough coat sire and smooth coat dam, this litter will be of intermediate coat length. This is especially desirable for cold winter climates, but not a problem for hot summer climates, as all the undercoat is shed in summer.
At Marble Peaks Ranch we focus on breeding sound, healthy Anatolian Shepherd Dogs that will excel as livestock guardians. Due to this emphasis in our breeding program, we prioritize the placement of our Anatolian Shepherd puppies in working homes, protecting either livestock or family. If you are looking for a pet/companion, we strongly encourage you to consider adoption. Check with the National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network for available Anatolians. Please read our page on Evaluating Breeders and Owners to review important issues about owning and selecting an Anatolian Shepherd Dog.
If you are interested in a future litter, please begin by filling out our Puppy Questionnaire and so we understand your needs and your property.
